Substack Ghostwriter and Newsletter Ghostwriter

Do you want to position yourself as a thought leader?

Are you already a thought leader but don’t have the time to post?

Do you want to take advantage of your existing email list, or build a thriving list on Substack?

That’s where I come in.

Substack Ghostwriter / Newsletter Ghostwriter

As a ghostwriter, I write under your name. You may not have the time or the inclination to do it yourself–there are bigger fish to fry, after all–but I can sharpen and deliver your message for you. Sounding like you, but polished and direct.

My service is for Substack articles and/or newsletters to your existing email audience.

After all, Substack is basically the new form of newsletter, but if you have a nice solid email audience that works just as well.

Not sure what to say?

We speak for a short window, generally an hour every 1-2 weeks, and you get four highly-crafted Substack posts per month based on your ideas, using your voice. Before anything goes out, you’ll get a chance to flag revisions and corrections.

In the meantime, you’re reaping the benefits of the thousands of articles, pages, and personal essays I’ve crafted in my 15+ years as a ghostwriter. Not to mention my Amazon bestselling books and award-winning screenplays.

Creative Muscle at Your Disposal

As a working screenwriter, I have spent countless hours building my narrative structure muscles.

Telling stories about characters means making people care about the characters. This emotional resonance is crucial to capture the heart–not just the mind–of a reader.

Whether we’re working from a concept, a pitch, an outline, a treatment, or just a good idea I can help you structure your articles, and give them the heart, to have the maximum impact for your readers.

Expertise in Article Writing

Over the years, I’ve managed to rank several websites through blogging alone.

This means hundreds of thousands of words in just the form you’re looking for: articles that get people interested. Concepts that sell.

Ways to segue into that pitch smoothly. Making your articles a welcome addition to the inbox. Stories that connect with the reader. Ideas that prove your thought leadership.

Sounding Like You

It’s totally valid to wonder how a person could expect to write in a way that sounds like you.

In my years as a ghostwriter for university and graduate school applications, I’ve spent time sitting in rooms with clients. Working together, we’ve worked through their most impactful, fundamental stories. The things that sell them to Top 10 schools.

In doing so, I can adapt to the client’s thought process and manner of speaking. The writing becomes a mix: it’s good writing with all the narrative structure you’d expect, but the sentence structure, tone, and voice have become you.

How It Works

We meet for an hour every two weeks to come up with article ideas, and have a half-hour feedback session on the off weeks.

I, as your Substack ghostwriter, research and draft one Substack article per week, working one week in advance.

During this week, you have the chance to read and approve/suggest changes. Feedback is a built-in part of the process.

Don’t forget, I’m always available over email or text.

What Is It You’re Looking For in a Substack Ghostwriter?

It’s very important to keep a few things in mind.

What sort of information do you want to put out in the world?

Do you want to provide information to your peers? Perhaps build your legacy?

Do you want to build an email list to sell to? Or do you have a list that’s sitting there untapped?

How do you talk? How do people think you speak? Are you bold and aggressive? Warm and cuddly? Matter-of-fact and serious?

What sort of writers would you look to as an example? Whose work do you wish was your own?

How involved do you want to be in this process? If you’d like to keep in the loop at every stage of the process, that’s great. If you just want a done-for-you solution, that’s also available.

The more you understand what you’re after, the smoother the process to bring your ideas to life.
